Excellence in Service to Our Community
Queen City Diwan exists to connect young Muslims to our history, our community, and their enormous promise and potential. We create transformative leadership experiences that honor the richness of Muslim history, celebrate the depth of Islamic civilization, and empower students to discover their purpose. We look to the past, yes. But we are focused on the future. This is travel with intention, designed to the highest standards.
Our flagship program, Queen City University, reflects decades of expertise, relentless attention to detail, and a profound love for the people we serve. We believe our young people deserve mentorship that meets them where they are and challenges them to become who they’re meant to be.
That belief drives everything we build.
Our Team
Haroon Moghul | Founder & President

For over twenty years, Haroon has poured his heart into empowering Muslim communities—as an educator, chaplain, author, and guide. As Muslim Chaplain at Xavier University, he walks alongside students navigating faith, identity, and purpose. As the author of How to be a Muslim: An American Story and Two Billion Caliphs: A Vision of a Muslim Future, he’s shaped conversations about what it means to be Muslim in America and what our communities can become.
His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Al-Jazeera, CNN, TIME, The Guardian, and NPR. He’s studied at New York University, studied and taught at Columbia University, and designed leadership programs for high schoolers, college students, and professionals from across North America, Europe and beyond. He’s been named one of the fifty most influential Muslims in the Americas by EqualityX in 2023 and 2024. But more than credentials, Haroon brings something irreplaceable: deep, genuine investment in the people he serves.
As a parent himself, as someone who’s spent decades in Muslim communities watching young people struggle and soar, he knows what our travelers need—because he’s lived it, taught it, and dedicated his life to it. Queen City Diwan is the culmination of that dedication.

Why We Do This

Because our communities deserve to see the best of who we’ve been—so they can become the best of who they’re meant to be. Because Muslim history isn’t something to consume passively—it’s something to learn from actively, to draw strength from, to build upon. Because our young people need more than degrees—they need mentors, networks, confidence, and community. Because families deserve travel that enriches rather than exhausts, that teaches rather than just entertains.
Because we believe excellence in service to our communities isn’t optional—it’s the standard.
