Queen City University: An Immersive College Leadership Experience
Saturday, June 20 – Saturday, June 27 | 2026
For undergraduate college students only

Imagine a program that offers thoughtful Muslim college students the chance to explore our faith, connect with our history, build friendships with like-minded young leaders (connections that’ll last a lifetime!) — while pursuing the academic, professional and personal skills that’ll set them on the path to prosperity and dignity for years to come.

Now imagine that program celebrates our faith, acknowledges the pain and grief so many of our communities carry, carrying our aspirations, reflecting our realities, and speaking to our strengths. Designed and led by Haroon Moghul, with over two decades of unique experiences, including as a parent, an educator, and a university chaplain, this is a labor of love and purpose.

For over twenty years, Haroon has designed diverse leadership retreats around the world, built and taught academic courses at some of the world’s most prestigious universities, and led professional development programs for high schoolers, in elite colleges, and for young, mid-career and senior professionals. You can read more about Haroon and his work here.

We’re channeling these experiences into a program of elite caliber, creative and endlessly curious, ethical, principled, and globally-minded. In the mountains of southern Spain, our students will experience a unique kind of retreat. Participants will learn with brilliant scholars and creators, and build community with like-minded Muslims from the United States–and beyond.

Alongside Haroon, this leadership retreat will feature expert mentors like Sadia Malik (Emerging Leaders Program Manager at the American Pakistan Foundation, Vice Curator of the Global Shapers Cincinnati Hub and Youth Director at the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati) — together, we’ll seek to understand our relationship with God, self, and society.

We’ll engage questions like

  • What explains the rise and fall of the old Muslim world?
  • What unique lessons can we take from Muslim Spain into our lives?
  • Why have Muslim communities today struggled to translate their numbers into meaningful impact?
  • How can young Muslims balance faith and career, beliefs and belonging?
  • How does Islam help us build strength, resilience and perspective?
  • How can Muslims do more to enrich and empower our societies?
  • What professional skills and insights can help young Muslims realize their career potential?
  • How should young men and women think about the biggest decisions in their lives and make better choices that honor their potential and purpose?

The Queen City University retreat includes Málaga, Córdoba, Sevilla, Granada and more. We will accept a limited number of students based on the strength, seriousness and passion of their applications, which will be open in February, with pricing details as well.

We are open to and encourage applications from Muslim students of diverse backgrounds, religious understanding, areas of interest and ambitions.
