Muslim Spain was always more than Spain. So our tours should be, too. Queen City Diwan joins with Travel Safina to provide a fresh take on greater Andalus, exploring the rich legacy and incredible tapestry of what was and what is. This intimate experience will touch down in Casablanca and take in the sights and sounds of Morocco–including Rabat, Fes and Tangier. Then we head to Spain, for Sevilla (and an optional excursion to Cordoba) before stopping to breathe in the oceanside majesty of Faro, Portugal, and closing in vibrant Lisbon.
Three countries. Two continents. Magnificent mountains. Stunning beaches. We’ll cross the sea, witnessing the scope and size of Andalus. A treasure-house of memories, including delicious food, stunning hotels, incredible classes, expert guides, live music, heart-stopping vistas, optional excursions, and the chance to experience new Muslim communities as they find their vision for the future. We’ll learn about architecture and design, poetry and literature, fashion and calligraphy, with wonderful company all the way.
Open to travelers of all ages and backgrounds, this trip is led by our own Haroon Moghul, who’ll be with us from the day we arrive and through our day of departure. Queen City University

FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS AGES 18-22
We’re excited to announce the first-ever Queen City University leadership retreat, built exclusively for Muslim college students (aged 18-22) who want to unlock their potential, make great friendships, build deep community, grow their perspective, and do more than see the world: they hope to change the world.
In the mountains of southern Spain, a select group of students will experience a unique kind of leadership retreat. We’ll explore remarkable history, learn with brilliant scholars and creators, and build a community with like-minded leaders from across the United States–and beyond. Designed and led by our own Haroon Moghul, this leadership retreat will feature expert mentors who travel with, engage and explore with admitted students from the first day to the last.
Over our time together, we’ll pursue questions like
- What explains the rise and fall of the old Muslim world?
- What unique lessons can we take from Muslim Spain into our lives?
- Why have Muslim communities today struggled to translate their numbers into meaningful impact?
- How can young Muslims balance faith and career, beliefs and belonging?
- How does Islam help us build strength, resilience and perspective?
- How can American and Western Muslims do more to enrich and empower our societies?
- What professional skills and insights can help young Muslims realize their career potential?
- How should young men and women think about the biggest decisions in their lives and make better choices that honor their potential and purpose?
This retreat is priced at $1,800 per-person (all admitted students will be assigned a roommate of the same gender.) Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will close on October 5th, 2024. Seats are limited to create a more dynamic and exciting experience.
