Queen City University: An Immersive College Leadership Experience
January 3 – 9, 2026
FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS AGES 18-22

Imagine a program that offers select Muslim college students the chance to explore our faith, connect with our history, build friendships with similarly ambitious Muslims, connections that’ll last a lifetime — while pursuing the academic, professional and personal skills that’ll set them on the path to prosperity and dignity for years to come.

Now imagine that program is unapologetically Muslim, a program that acknowledges the pain and grief so many of our communities carry, a program designed to reflect our realities, our ambitions, the headwinds we sail against, and the strengths we may not know we have.

That program is Queen City University: Designed and led by Haroon Moghul, who’s pouring over two decades’ of unique, world-class experience into a program for your college student. As a parent himself, with years of teaching middle and high school students in his own Muslim community, this project isn’t labor. It’s love and dedication.

For over twenty years, Haroon has designed diverse leadership retreats around the world, built and taught academic courses including at some of the world’s most prestigious universities, and led professional development programs for high schoolers, in elite colleges, and for young, mid-career professionals and senior professionals. You can read more about Haroon and his work here.

Haroon is channeling his professional experiences and commitments into building a program of elite caliber, serious, ambitious, creative and endlessly curious, ethical, principled, and globally-minded. In the mountains of southern Spain, a select group of students will experience a unique kind of leadership retreat. Participants will explore remarkable history, learn with brilliant scholars and creators, and build a community with like-minded leaders from across the United States–and beyond.

Alongside Haroon Moghul, this leadership retreat will feature expert mentors like Sadia Malik (Emerging Leaders Program Manager at the American Pakistan Foundation, Vice Curator of the Global Shapers Cincinnati Hub and Youth Director at the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati) — together, we’ll travel with students, helping them engage, explore and build a deeper connection to their faith, to each other, and their purpose and potential.
Over our week together, participants will pursue and embody questions like

  • What explains the rise and fall of the old Muslim world?
  • What unique lessons can we take from Muslim Spain into our lives?
  • Why have Muslim communities today struggled to translate their numbers into meaningful impact?
  • How can young Muslims balance faith and career, beliefs and belonging?
  • How does Islam help us build strength, resilience and perspective?
  • How can Muslims do more to enrich and empower our societies?
  • What professional skills and insights can help young Muslims realize their career potential?
  • How should young men and women think about the biggest decisions in their lives and make better choices that honor their potential and purpose?

This retreat is priced at $1,800 per-person (all admitted students will be assigned a roommate of the same gender.) You can find more information on our application page. Please note: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and registrations will close when we meet capacity!

Queen City University will be an ongoing series of leadership retreats, educational programs and opportunities for like-minded young leaders to get to know and grow with each other. We’re building the future, one student at a time.
